Board of Pensions Workshops
Rev. Doug Portz, our regional representative from our Board of Pensions, is offering a series of workshops next week and will be attending our June 27 stated meeting at Hillside church in Greenville to present information on the PCUSA medical plan, retirement savings options, and Terms of Call guidance:
– 6/27 at noon at Shenango SeniorCare in New Wilmington – a luncheon for retired pastors and spouses
– 6/27 5pm at Hillside church – a workshop for pastors and finance folk (treasurers, elders, etc.) to learn how best to structure annual Terms of Call packages to maximize tax and savings benefits for both pastors and churches
– 6/28 at noon at Shenango SeniorCare in New Wilmington – a Benefits overview lunch for first-call pastors and spouses, highlighting some of the lessor known features of our Board of Pensions benefits plan
Ingrid and Andrew Walls Visiting
Andrew and Ingrid Walls work from their home in Aberdeen, Scotland as well as Liverpool, England and Accra, Ghana to support and promote Christian scholarship in Africa. They teach Christian leaders from 17 African nations theology, mission, culture, history, literature, language (especially Bible translation), the arts and music, nurturing Christian scholarship that will both serve Africa and contribute to the thinking and activity of the world Church.
Ingrid and Andrew will be in Shenango Presbytery and you are welcome to see them on the following occasions:

- 10 am Sunday, July 9 at Highland Presbyterian Church worship, New Castle

New Wilmington Mission Conference
The 2017 New Wilmington Mission Conference will be held July 22-29 at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. At 112 years old, the New Wilmington Mission Conference is the longest-running mission conference in the United States. Held on the campus of Westminster College every July, NWMC is intergenerational, Presbyterian-related and youth-focused.
About 1,000 people attend from over 30 states and 20 countries for a chance to connect with mission workers and hear what God is doing all over the world. This week-long conference features many well-known and engaging speakers for one low, all-inclusive price! This year’s speakers include Dr. Rodger Nishioka, Director of Adult Educational Ministries at Village Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Dr. Jim Singleton, Associate Professor of Pastoral Leadership and Evangelism at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, as well as many others. The New Wilmington Mission Conference is looking for volunteers to do some light office work (preparing mailings, answering phones, etc.) during the months of June and July. Mission Conference Reception
Our presbytery will host its third annual missionary reception during the New Wilmington Mission Conference. The reception will be Sunday, July 23 at 5 PM in the Social Hall of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, and will include a light supper. Join Shenango mission leaders, pastors, and friends as we interact with some of the missionaries supported by our congregations in the presbytery. More details to come!
What’s God Doing in Southeast Asia?
Barry and Shelly Dawson, Southeast Asia Liasons for the PC(USA) will make a presentation at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 10th in the Hill UP Church sanctuary (501 Second Street, Butler). They will discuss their involvement with seven Southeast Asia countries on behalf of the denomination. All are welcome! Bring a friend! Please call for luncheon reservations, 724-287-5427.

Third Presbyterian Church in New Castle offers scholarships to members of Presbyterian churches in Lawrence County who are attending schools of higher education for ministerial training. Applications may be obtained by calling the church office at 724-658-6683 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2017.
Robes and Bibles Available
Shenango Presbyterian Church joyfully and willingly offers two styles of choir/ bell robes for adults for any interested church or group. Please pick up the robes from the church at your earliest convenience. We have 18 blue robes and 20 red/ burgundy robes. The blue are like new! See the photos below.
Additionally, we have 100+ NIV Bibles that used to be pew Bibles. They are hardcover and need only to be retrieved by interested party.
