A commission elected by the presbytery (pictured) met Sunday, April 29, at our Slippery Rock church in Ellwood City to ordained candidate Carolyn Fenner Moss to the ministry of Word and Sacrament. Carolyn graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary many years ago, but recently completed the ordination care process with our presbytery after sensing a fresh call to pastoral ministry. She is serving as a 3/4 time pastor for the Slippery Rock church. Carolyn lives in Volant with husband Howard, former presbytery treasurer. Together they run the Candleford Inn, a local bed & breakfast. Welcome to membership in Shenango Presbytery, Carolyn!

LAMBEC Capital Campaign
The Camping Association of the Presbyteries of Northwestern Pennsylvania is conducting a $100,000 capital campaign to restore the water system for Camp Lambec. The system needs a DEP-approved overhaul, and we are starting those repairs with an approved contractor. This is an expensive overhaul, but it is necessary to continue the ministry to youth and families. As such, the Board has authorized a $100K campaign to address this and other items of deferred maintenance. The Board is committed to the continued operation of Camp Lambec, as we believe firmly that this ministry provides unique and powerful discipleship opportunities for participants. Individual donations can be made online using this link. Church contributions can be coordinated through the Shenango Presbytery office.
Summer Camp 2018 at Camp Lambec
Camp Lambec is a place for fun adventures in faith, family, and friends! Visit www.camplambec.net or www.facebook.com/camplambec to download registration brochures and read more about the exciting summer camp programs available this year at Camp Lambec in Erie.
Volunteers are needed to get Camp Lambec ready for summer ministry on May 5th and 19th from 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The heavy snow took a toll on the trees last winter – a lot of help is needed sawing, splitting, and removing the downed trees. A light lunch will be provided, but volunteers should bring a bagged lunch, drinking water, work gloves, hand sanitizer, chain saws, and any tools that might be helpful. Please email Bob Meanor by May 1st if you are coming (and with how many people).
Note: The camp’s water system is still being renovated and is in the testing phase. The camp’s water is NOT USABLE and volunteers are not permitted to spend the night.
Apply to the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program today!! Final round for the 18-19 season open until June 1. National sites only are available.
