The New Wilmington Mission Conference is just around the corner! Don’t miss out on this gem right in our own backyard, as Christians from all over the world gather to hear what God is doing, July 20-27 on the campus of Westminster College – all ages are welcome! To register or for more information about speakers and programs, visit nwmcmission.org.
The New Wilmington Mission Conference is looking for individuals to serve on staff. In particular, they are looking for individuals who would like to serve in child care (ages 0-4). If you have a gift for children’s ministry, please consider serving in either the mornings or the evenings on July 19-26. Staff members must have (or be willing to obtain) current PA clearances. Contact Andrea Hall at email@example.com for more information.
“Meet a Missionary Dinner”
Churches, Mission Committees and YOU, are invited to share a meal with missionaries who represent us to the world on Sunday, July 22nd at 5 PM in the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Stay tuned for a list of attending missionaries. Stick around afterward and check out the “Evening Meeting” at NWMC at 7:45 PM in the amphitheater.
Sudan/South Sudan Mission Network
More than 20 years ago some people from churches in Pennsylvania and South Carolina (as well as others from far and wide) formed a network so that they could connect more deeply with Christian friends in Sudan and, when in 2011 it became the newest nation, South Sudan.
This year, the Sudan/South Sudan Mission Network will meet at Westminster College on July 23-24.
As a local friend, you can register at the New Wilmington Mission Conference website, www.nwmcmission.org, so you can stay on campus and enjoy the conference for some or all of the week. You can also register as a commuter for $50 a day, or simply show up when you want during the conference without registering for any meals or conference activities. (**If you decide not to register, please contact Denise to let her know you plan to attend the Network meeting.)
LAMBEC Capital Campaign
The Camping Association of the Presbyteries of Northwestern Pennsylvania is conducting a $100,000 capital campaign to restore the water system for Camp Lambec. The system needs a DEP-approved overhaul, and we are starting those repairs with an approved contractor. This is an expensive overhaul, but it is necessary to continue the ministry to youth and families. As such, the Board has authorized a $100K campaign to address this and other items of deferred maintenance. The Board is committed to the continued operation of Camp Lambec, as we believe firmly that this ministry provides unique and powerful discipleship opportunities for participants. Individual donations can be made online using this link. Church contributions can be coordinated through the Shenango Presbytery office.
A small church group in New Castle is seeking about 30-40 hymnals. If you have any extras, or even older hymnals that need a new home, please contact Randy Costello at 724-658-6416 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
