Special Meeting of Presbytery

Council has called a meeting of Presbytery on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 6:30 PM at Wallace Memorial Chapel on the Westminster College campus for the purpose of receiving the report of the Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee and taking action on their recommendation for a new Executive Presbyter.  The meeting will begin with worship.

The next stated meeting of Shenango Presbytery will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church of Sharpsville.

  • Election of Moderator and Vice-Moderator of Presbytery for the coming year

  • For war to end in Syria and for rebuilding to begin!!!
  • An invitation to participate on April 11 in a Day of Prayer led by Damascus Church Young Adults.  They are calling it “Together for Peace in Syria by SMYT (Syrian Multimedia Youth Team)” (9pm their time).  Supported also by Near East School of Theology  students in Beirut (lighting candles in support + chapel service during the same day).  They are asking as many as possible in the PCUSA to join with them on this day for prayer…prayer for an end to violence/war in Syria, prayer for Syria’s peace, prayer for a just and lasting peace for Syria’s future, prayer for the church and the church’s leaders to be sustained in their hope and perseverance, etc.  AND, they are asking churches and individuals know that they are joining them in prayer by emailing the lead organizing or facbooking him @:  Facebook: Milad E. Alkaed;  Email:  Millo-92@hotmail.com.  If churches would be willing to send pictures or video of their time of prayer for Syria, the SMYT want to create collage’ to share via facebook in order to help build momentum for a prayer movement for peace in Syria…it would be FANTASTIC if churches from Shenango would participate!

Health Fair at Clen-Moore

Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church (220 E. Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle) will host a FREE Health Fair from Noon-2 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2014.  The event will feature blood pressure screening, medical equipment demos, balance/fall risk assessment, ask the pharmacist, vision screenings, APPRISE medicare counseling, refreshments, giveaways, and much more.
