– Lee McDermott, former pastor in this presbytery, has had some issues with an enzyme deficiency. He is in the hospital, but doing well.

Save the Date!
This year’s Presbytery-Wide Youth Event has been scheduled for May 30th (a little later than usual). Watch for an info packet to be sent within the next week, and more information to come at the April Presbytery meeting.

Register for the Pastor’s Retreat
Darrell Guder will be our special guest for the Spring Pastor’s Retreat, May 4-5 at Villa Maria Retreat Center. Registrations are due by April 3rd! Forms were available in the February Presbytery packet, and can also be found online at http://www.shenango.org/News/retreat.htm, or you can e-mail your registration information to office@shenango.org.

January 2010 Trip to Sudan

Now is the time to get your name on the list for the trip informational meeting to be held in late April or early May.

Dr. Charles S. MacKenzie to Speak at Grove City College
Rev. Dr. MacKenzie will speak on “Calvin’s Contributions to Education” at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 16th in Sticht Lecture Hall, and at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, March 17th in Harbison Chapel. MacKenzie is currently Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL; he also served as the fifth president of Grove City College from 1971-1991.

Rev. Dr. Donald McKim to Speak at Westminster College
Rev. Dr. McKim will speak at the 7:00 PM Vespers at Westminster College on Sunday, March 29 and Monday, March 30, 11:40 AM. Both services will be in the Wallace Memorial Chapel. he will be speaking on the topic of John Calvin as we recognize his 500th birthday. Don is Executive Editor for Theology and Reference for Westminster John Knox Press. He is a son of the Wampum Church, a graduate of Westminster College and Pittsburgh Seminary.

First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, OH will be having lectures by Dr. Leanne Van Dyk from Western Seminary in Michigan on Monday, March 30 at 4:00 and 7:00 PM. For information and reservations call 330-744-4307.

Synod Summer Conference
Many from our churches enjoyed the Synod Summer Conference last June at Westminster College. This June (10-12) this event will be held at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA, another beautiful Presbyterian-related campus. Beau Weston is the main speaker. Group Publishing VBS Training Event at North Liberty
North Liberty Presbyterian Church, Grove City will be hosting Group Publishing’s only Pennsylvania Networking/Training Party for Holy Land Adventure Bible School Rome! You can check the program out without making a commitment, gather ideas and make plans to share props and supplies. A representative from Group will lead the “party” on March 21st from 9 AM – NOON. $25 for the 1st attendee, $10 for each additional person from the same church. NOON Music at Christ Presbyterian
You are invited to several free concerts that will be held on the Tuesdays of March at 12:15 PM at Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City. March 17th will feature Donna Groom, organ. March 24th will feature Terri Miller on harp, and March 31st will feature John Thickey, organ.

Secretary/Custodian
Second Presbyterian Church in New Castle is completing its 125 years of service on April 26. Their secretary/custodian, Leah DiLullo, will be out of work. Her resume is available from the Presbytery office or by calling Leah directly at 724-652-0541.
