Registrations Deadline Extended for Youth Event
We are anxiously awaiting registrations so that we can plan to have enough building materials (and food) on hand for the Presbytery-Wide Youth Event on May 30th with the Western PA Table Project.  If your youth group hasn’t registered yet, please call 724-528-1610 or e-mail Autumn (office@shenango.org) or Debbie (resource@shenango.org) with a number by May 22nd!  

Summer Curriculum Options Available on the Internet

If your church is looking for something different for their summer educational programs, consider We Believe: Mission Stories 2009 for Children and/or We Believe: Mission Stories 2009 for Youth and Adults.  Each downloadable 13-session curriculum connects participants to 13 mission sites around the US and the world.  The easy-to-use sessions include a four-page leader’s guide, photographs, videos, and resource pages.  Each curriculum costs $29.95 and can be ordered fromhttp://www.pcusa.org/marketplace.

New Wilmington Presbyterian Church celebrated Joe Hopkins 90th birthday on May 10th.

Hall of Famer
Ray Hylton (1st New Castle) was inducted into the Taylor University Hall of Fame for his exploits in both basketball and soccer.

Farewell Open House
Slippery Rock Church in Ellwood City (Highway 65 and Old Pittsburgh Road) is giving a Farewell Open House for Pastor Teresa Kendall on Sunday, May 17th from 1-4 PM.  Remarks will be given at 2:00, with big band era music at 3:00.

Family Concert by Singer/Songwriter Chip Richter

on Sunday, June 7th at 6:30 PM at East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City.  A freewill offering will be received.  There will be a cookie reception following the concert.  See http://www.eastmainpc.org for more information.

Nearby Mission Trip Opportunity
First Presbyterian in Greenville will be taking their mission trip to Westminster Highlands this year on June 21-24 to do maintenance work for the camp.  They are looking for partners from other churches.  Contact Terry Cooper at 724-588-9429.

Registration is now open for the Perspectives class, sponsored by World Mission Initiative at Pittsburgh Seminary.  Classes will be held at the Grove City Alliance Chuch. Hymnals, Bibles, and Paraments Available
Oak Grove Presbyterian Church has 75 Red Presbyterian Hymnals (56 edition), 40 King James Pew Bibles, and a set of paraments to give away.  Either call the church at 724-924-2780 or email Marsha Parrish at parrisma@yahoo.com.

Chaplain Needed
The Greater Cleveland Council of the Boy Scouts is seeking a Chaplain (may be a seminary student) for 4 weeks starting June 21st.  Could come just for vespers on Sunday evenings, or could stay the entire week.  Small stipend available.  Please contact Don Rodgers for more information at 724-652-2470 or donaldra2@aol.com.
