Prayers

  • Ralph Hawkins’ (New Wilmington) father passed away yesterday morning.
  • Jim Wigley is still in Greenville Hospital following his surgery. He is expected to be home soon.
  • Walter White is in Sharon Regional for rehabilitation following surgery.

Teacher Training to Meet Individual Needs!

The new internet program “Opening Doors to Discipleship” is available FREE to Presbyterians. It includes three courses: Teacher Training, Bible Background, and Reformed/Presbyterian Theology. Teachers can pick and choose training programs that they personally need. Churches can plan meetings to view and discuss certain training sessions. It’s amazing!
An event to introduce this resource will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church from 10:00 to 12:00 this Saturday morning, October 3, 2009. PLEASE contact the Presbytery Office ASAP if you plan to attend this event. Call 724-528-1610 or email ched@shenango.org. We need to know how many are coming!!
PW Fall Gathering – Saturday, October 17
Learn something new about Communication at PW Fall Gathering! Check out the list of workshops and choose two to attend at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 17, 2009. You’re Invited to an Anniversary Celebration

Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church will be celebrating their 50th anniversary on October 4th at 11:00 AM with a reception luncheon to follow. Please RSVP to the church no later than September 18th at 724-376-2630.

Hungarian Dinner at Bethlehem
In conjunction with their 105th Birthday, the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church will be holding a Hungarian Dinner on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from Noon – 2:00 PM. The menu includes: Pigs in the blanket, Sausage, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Buttered bread, Cake, Coffee and Tea. Adults $8.00; Children (under 6) $4.00. Workshops, Conferences and Local Events

Likay Thai Folk Drama Traditional Dance Come Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in the Hicks Chapel Auditorium for an evening of folk drama and traditional dance. PCUSA missionaries Rob Collins and Esther Wakeman have formed this dance group. Suggested donation is $5. This cultural event is sponsored by World Mission Initiative and the Evangelical Student Fellowship. If you have questions, contact Beth Arnold – earnold@pts.edu.

Presbyterian Men

The Presbytery Office is looking to get rid of a 9+ yr. old black/white copier. It is good for small quantities of copies per month (100 or fewer single-sided). Tabletop design – stand available too. As is. The Presbytery will not provide any follow-up assistance and makes no promises about how long it will last. No deliveries – you must come to pick it up.
