A Missional Church Conversation
Michael Moynagh is a pastor, author and leader in the Fresh Expressionsmovement in the United Kingdom. This is a “missional church” effort where new congregations are being formed alongside more traditional churches. Shenango and Beaver Butler presbyteries are hosting Dr. Moynagh on Wednesday, September 25 (arrive at 10:30 am – concludes at 3:30 pm) at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople (415 East Grandview). Ruling and Teaching Elders should register early at office@beaverbutler.org or 724-452-7515. Bring your own lunch or ask for a box lunch ($5.50). Please let Dave Dawson know (david.dawson@shenango.org) if you are going so that we can coordinate rides and you can receive an article to read in preparation.
Fellowship, Discussion, and Ice Cream
All Shenango Presbytery pastors and CREs are invited to First Presbyterian Church of Sharon on Wednesday, August 28, 7:00 PM for an update and discussion of: status of Discernment Teams, summary and reflections on Russ Crabtree/Holy Cow! survey and results, presentation of draft of theological statement for Shenango Presbytery, and report of Presbytery Future Team. The evening will also include Brewster’s Ice Cream (and a sugar-free alternative). Ministry, theology, and ice cream, maybe it’s John Calvin and 16th C. Geneva as Calvin wanted it to be. Contact Rev. Dr. Glenn Hink (pastor@1stpcs.org or 724-981-2211 ext. 2) if you plan to attend.
