Foundation of Middle Eastern New Testament Studies
Ken Bailey founded an institute for Middle Eastern New Testament Studies while teaching at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon (1965 – 1985). In retirement this initiative continued as the Foundation of Middle Eastern New Testament Studies (FoMENTS) “…to search for a more culturally informed understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus for the nurture and renewal of the worldwide church.” At the close of 2016 the FoMENTS Board consists of Ethel Bailey, Thomas Mansell, David Dawson (president) Pamela Maloney, William Crooks (vice president and secretary) and William McKnight (treasurer). Victor Makari serves as Director of Arabic/English Translations where FoMENTS directs most of its resources. Contact can be made with David Dawson at david.dawson1947@outlook.com.
