Film to See
“Angered by white residents’ racist comments that he wouldn’t “keep up his yard,” Pearl Fryar teaches himself topiary sculpture and becomes the first African American in his Bishopville, SC neighborhood to win the coveted “yard of the month” award.” Presbyterian Media Mission presents “A Man Named Pearl” at a special event on Wednesday, November 11th at 10:30 AM at the Cranberry Theaters in Cranberry Twp. Cost per participant is $4.00 and there will be a Q&A following the showing of the film with Director, Scott Galloway (son of the former Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Pastor John Galloway). Message from Debbie Blane, our new missionary at Nile Theological College, Sudan
Dear Friends,
A note to let you know that I am safely in Sudan! I have a two bedroom apartment to live in right now – it is older, but the design is a good one. Am being cared for, today I got a new SIM card for the cell phone that I purchased in Nairobi. In the meantime the college has wireless, Praise God! I would love to hear from you, it may take me time to get back to folks so please don’t feel neglected if you don’t hear from me for a while.
Many Blessings, Debbie
